preggers update
Hello!! I daily grow and grow, with some stretching pains mind ya. Before my tummy would "stick" out but it's more rounder right now. I get to feel Rochy kick everyday, they're strong kicks and sometimes s/he rolls around, forming shapes on my belly. It's hard to believe that we're 6 months pregnant now. The downside of this pregnancy is, peeing every two frickin' hours when trying to sleep through the night and having some discomfort in my back and belly area as it's growing.
yesterday I packed away my pre-preggers clothes and I think I tried to suppress a tear or two. My maternity wardobe is so pathetic and I look like a minister's wife or something like that. It doesn't matter, 3 more months left and I'll have vacations soon (thanksgiving, winter break) so, take away 3 weeks of having to wear appropriate clothes... plus weekends, so that'd mean I only have 2 more months left of wearing those "miss 2 goody shoes" clothes, yay.
I dreamt that I wore my favorite stretch Gap jeans and it fit perfectly. I woke up and started feeling my belly, trying to make sure that I didn't have a flat tummy. I also cannot bend over to pick up things I drop (which seems to be a thing I've done too frequently lately!!!). Especially when I'm teaching, I drop those dry eraser markers, three times per class and at the end when everyone leaves, I bend over ever so carefully and collect markers off the floor. It's way too tedious!!
All in all, I'm perfectly healthy and already counting the days until Winter Break (december 16).
Some of you have been asking if Jason and I finished our registry for the baby. Well, we did a while ago but just never got around to emailing it! We've registered at both Babies R' Us (and it kind of sucks because most of the things we requested aren't available online, only in store, duh!) and Target. Here are the links to our registries:

Here;s the most updated pic of my belly:

And I like this one due to the shadow showed on the post of our patio :)

Alright, I'm off to have a busy Sunday. I'm glad tomorrow's off as well, I cannot imagine having to go back to work tomorrow, after two weeks of nonstop working, I'd go mad!!

Katrina reveals an ugly American truth, for all (regardless of education) at last!
what a week. i worked nonstop from august 23rd until today, 1:47 PM, where i made a beeline out of my work, straight to home and soaked in the tub. i've been pretty much overwhelmed with work and at the same time, so appalled with the Katrina ordeal. i've donated money, talked with my students about it, showing them images and telling them that it's real, not a "movie" or something "that happens to them but not me."
i mean, come on, this is america. why were the responses so slow? oh wait, stupid question, the majority of them were poor and black. of course, why should the government bother. they wouldn't have if it wasn't for the media, a good deed they rarely got done. well, at a part they shifted the focus on looters, i mean, come on. imagine... some of them may have been on drugs ranging from illegal drugs to psycholoical drugs. the damn levees stole that from them therefore, they probably went through some wild withdrawl. that's one excuse i can think of, although the shooting at hospitals and rescuers are a tad bit way too much for my mind to fathom. however, i am sure that it was a very small percentage of what the "looters" were like.
i cheered in my head that they stole the nikes, the jerseys and other things from wal mart or other huge franchise stores. go guys!! they probably finally broke even the profits and returned some karma back to those sweatshops who earn pennies for a $150 pair of shoes.
And oh please, did anyone watch Mister Brown, the FEMA president, talk? he's so full of it that i secretly believe he's president bush's whipping boy for the entire embarassment. Brown claims that everything was fine, that people were getting food/water and that there were "few" corpses... little did that dimwit know (what an idiot) that there were complete (sometimes racial, IMO) coverage from the CNN, FoxNews or you name it. Even those asian news are hovering over there, covering without censorship (showing real graphics of what carnage is seen there).
and president bush came to visit new orleans and other katrina battered areas, FIVE FRICKIN' DAYS later. What? What did it have to take for him to cut his vacation 2 days short? the continual shots of media showing a disgraceful "superpowered" country (or may I emphasize, government) reacting with an obvious segregation of neglect.
not only those children, babies, mothers, elders are suffering, i start crying when i just think of those animals. those hundreds of zeuses and kirbys out there who were left behind, helpless and probably killed (spared from the stupidity of the american government).
sighs. i just am so pissed about the whole thing and donating money DOES not make me feel like i'm doing enough. i immed to friends to donate money to the red cross and i am asking you guys to do the same.
Red Cross: Make a donation for the Katrina Victims
well, go check Craigslist, where families and places are offering housing to those who lost homes
on the OTHER hand of the entire thing, i think those hard core red states finally got the message on what is REALLY happening in the Bush administration... one continual failure after another.
hugs to all those impacted by Katrina and things will be better!!
